The Financial Services Authority (FSA) was set up by government. It is an independent organisation responsible for regulating financial services in the UK. Its' aim is to promote efficient, orderly and fair financial markets and help retail financial service consumers get a fair deal. Lloyds Bank

Market Pl, Ilkeston DE7 8GS, UK – 0345 300 0000

This is not my main bank but we do use this bank for certain transactions and I find the staff very helpful and friendly. The premises are clean and tidy with two hole in the wall machines outside

Little Hallam Lane Post Office

176 Little Hallam Ln, Ilkeston DE7 4AD, UK – 0115 932 5840

This is a small yet busy Post Office, a little tight to move around inside, but they do have a fair selection of foods and household goods available. Prices are ok for a small shop, service is good and each time I have used it the staff have been friendly. There is a Post box and a Telephone box outside, that said parking can be an issue, especially at certain times of the day, like school times for example, lunch and last posting time. Overall though I give five stars for the service given and the fact they are key to the local community.

Small busy Post Office with a selection of foods and household goods being sold also. Post box and Telephone box outside. Parking can be a problem outside at times

Bath Street Post Office

111 Bath St, Ilkeston DE7 8AP, UK – 0115 932 5793

Small Post Office at the bottom of town which is well used by all, especially the elderly people who don't want to walk up the hill on Bath Street. Sells all the usual Post Office goods from stamps to birthday cards and a place where staff are always helpful and friendly

Pleasent helpful staff

Inland Revenue's Internet service for self assessment. In common with most Government sites it looks as though it was designed by an undertaker. However, once we had gone through the long winded verification process, we did manage to pay our personal tax in minutes without the site crashing which was great.

Sadly the site is still a work in progress if you have a partnership or a trust. Incredibly these organisational forms still require third party software to enter their accounts. Remarkably HMRC seem quite happy with this situation!

Awsworth Post Office

8 Main St, Awsworth, Nottingham NG16 2QT, UK – 0115 932 5326

They are new to the post office side of things but are learning quickly and service is generally very good. They also have a convenience store here should you need a few items. There are three parking spaces outside making it nice and easy to pull up and pop in. They usually have weekly offers and some really good deals on display just as you walk in. You can purchase a variety of foods, fresh, tinned, packets and frozen. They have a good range of alcoholic and soft drinks available.

Service was lovely and efficient. Staff were very helpful and overall the post office/shop looked pretty clean and tidy, good work guys! George
